Work with Me
Are you ambitious, exhausted, and overwhelmed?
I help high-achievers who are tired of being the strong one and
ready to shift from surviving to thriving

As a recovering Superwoman, licensed therapist, and mental wellness strategist, I see you.
The Black woman who’s a business owner, leader, mother, partner, fixer, and go-to for everyone else. The one who built success from strength, grit, and faith — but is now carrying the weight of that success alone.
You’ve learned to push through the exhaustion, the anxiety, the pressure, the uncertainty. You’ve learned to hold it all together, even when you’re falling apart.
I get it.
I see you.
And I’m here to help you carry what you were never meant to hold by yourself.
Together, we’ll do the inner work that helps you thrive in your life, your leadership, and your business...without sacrificing your well-being.
Your healing is not selfish.
Your wellness is not optional.
Your success should not cost your sanity.
Let’s do the inner work that leads to outer success.
If you're tired of being the strong one and ready to finally do the work for yourself, you're in the right place.
About Me
I'm Kamilah Thomas, a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with over 20 years of experience and I specialize in something most therapists won't say out loud: helping high-achieving women stop performing "fine."
I have experience working with anxiety, depression, life transitions, grief, trauma burnout, and relationship stress.
My work is grounded in helping women unpack the conditioning that keeps them overextended, disconnected, and quietly overwhelmed to rebuild in a way that actually matches how capable they are, not just how productive they appear.
I have a particular passion for working with Black women navigating the intersection of professional success and personal depletion, aka the Strong Black Woman schema.
I'm not a generalist. I'm a specialist, which means you're not getting a provider who works with everyone. You're getting someone who has spent two decades specifically studying, living, and working within the experiences that brought you here.
My Approach
My approach is direct, culturally grounded, and collaborative. I'm not going to sit quietly and nod for 50 minutes.
I'll ask the question that cuts through, offer the perspective you haven't considered, and hold you accountable with warmth, not pressure.
I blend Trauma-Informed Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (T-CBT), solution-focused techniques, and culturally responsive care — which is a clinical way of saying: we look at the patterns driving your thoughts and behaviors, identify what's actually working and what isn't, and build strategies rooted in who you are, not a generic model that ignores the world you live in.
I don't do comfortable and stuck. I do honest and moving.
Sessions are collaborative. You bring the lived experience and I bring the clinical lens, the direct questions, and the perspective you might not have considered. I'll meet you with warmth. I'll also hold you accountable. Both things are true, and both things are necessary.
I work well with clients who are dealing with anxiety, depression, burnout, life transitions, grief, relationship stress, and identity challenges — particularly high-achieving women who are long overdue for someone to stop asking how they can help everyone else and start asking how they're really doing.
You're in the right place if you are:
✦ Self-aware and ready to go deeper than they've gone before
✦ Done with surface-level validation and ready for real accountability
✦ High-achieving woman who've been strong for everyone else and are finally ready to be held
What to Expect During the first session
We'll spend our time getting to know each other. I'll ask about what brought you here, what's been weighing on you, and what you're hoping therapy actually does for your life — not just your symptoms.
I want to understand your world, not just your presenting problem.
You don't have to have it all figured out before you show up. You don't need the right words or a neat summary of why you're struggling. You just have to show up honestly. I'll take it from there.
By the end of our first session, you'll know whether we're a good fit, what we might focus on together, and what working with me actually feels like. My goal is that you leave feeling heard, seen, and understood.
