About the event

You know how to hold space for everyone else—but what happens when you’re the one silently struggling?

This workshop equips clinicians with the tools and cultural understanding needed to recognize the hidden signs of high-functioning depression and anxiety (HFDA) in our clients and ourselves. We’ll explore how the Strong Black Woman schema can mask distress, how HFDA impacts our clinical work, and why true healing requires more than symptom checklists. By uncovering the hidden impact of these conditions on Black women, this session empowers clinicians to promote more authentic and transformative healing for ourselves and the people we serve.

If you’re ready to stop performing wellness and start embodying it, this one’s for you.

Learning Objectives

  1. Recognize atypical presentations of anxiety and depression in Black women.

  2. Identify blind spots that affect both your well-being and your clinical work
